Important Messages

  • Dance Assembly: This is just a friendly reminder that the use of electronic devices is not permitted during Dance Assembly, unless students are directed to utilize them by the assembly facilitator.
  • On Monday, September 24th, Ballet 1 (01) and Modern 1 will be in Loree due to BFA Senior Photo Shoot

Senior photo shoot will take place on Monday, September 24th from 12:35pm – 3:35pm in Studio 112

*Do not attend Choreo 3 class*

First-Year Students ONLY

On Tuesday, September 25th at 12:15pm, all first years will meet in the Soma Center for a MANDATORY 15 minute Some Center Orientation. To find the Soma Center, go down the stairs, make a left towards the woman’s locker room and its the first room on the left.

Attendance is mandatory and will be taken

Please plan accordingly to eat lunch beforehand and to go straight to Improv 1 after orientation.

Rutgers NDEO Student Organization Meeting


All dance students are invited to participate in the Rutgers NDEO Student Organization! Please join your peers to plan for the year and elect graduate and undergraduate officers to lead the organization.

Meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 26th, during Dance Assembly time (12:35pm -1:55pm) in Studio 110

Dextra Global VP Summit Flyer

Dextra is, “a global collaborative platform for creative endeavors. At Rutgers, students can use Detra to build and exhibit their creative portfolios. As students grow with their studies and profession, [you] can use Dextra to get employment and collaborate and network with the greater creative community”.

Dextra will be hosting the Dextra Global VR Summit from October 27th to October 30th and students can attend virtually for free. To register for this event, please visit Dextra Art


Soma Center Pilates Session:

BFA and BA majors are invited to sign up for free Pilates Reformer small group sessions in the Dance Department Soma Center.  Students can sign up for a once-a-week, hour-long session.  Sessions are available Tuesdays and Wednesdays 4-7pm, and begin on Tuesday, Sept. 11th.  The sign-up sheet for the first half of Fall semester is posted outside the Soma Center, and sign-up is on a first-come basis.  Reformer classes are a wonderful opportunity to supplement your dance training, so please take advantage of this opportunity if your schedule permits.
