ARTISTS STRIVING TO END POVERTY (ASTEP)

Artists Striving to End Poverty (ASTEP) is a New York-based nonprofit that uses the arts to improve the lives of children. ASTEP’s annual Artist as Citizen Conference hosted by The Juilliard School is a six-day retreat for young leaders, ages 18-25, looking to make a difference in their communities. We bring in community organizers, international aid workers, former UN representatives and high-level artists such as Danielle Brooks, Dick Scanlan, Jonathan Groff, David Pleasant and more, and we engage in discussion, see shows together, and devise original art, all in the pursuit of finding the appropriate balance between creative fulfillment and social impact.
Please visit their website for application information. The deadline to apply is March 31st.
