NDEO Student Organization at Rutgers University Professional Development Day

NDEO Student Organization at Rutgers University is proud to announce our first professional development day event, What is good Teaching? with NDEO President Thom Cobb!

The event will be held on Saturday, February 20th, 2016, in Nicholas Music Center Dance Studio 110 from 8:30am-5pm! It will include Jazz and Improvisation movement sessions wth Thom Cobb, a workshop on Style Agility led by current EdM in Dance Graduate Students, and plenty of opportunities to collaborate and discuss with members of the dance community.

We have a wonderful opportunity for Rutgers students interested in attending to volunteer during the event and participate for FREE! Please email rutgersndeo@gmail.com or refer to one of the many flyers posted around the studios for more information.

Movement Invention Project 2016

Movement Invention Project (MIP) is a unique three-week summer intensive in New York City for advanced dancers, 18 to 23 years old. Dancers will work with an extraordinary faculty of teachers, choreographers, and mentors in a Project that encourages risk-taking, creativity, and the development of improvisational skills. In this supportive environment, dancers will be prepared to work in collaboration with today’s choreographers. The program includes ballet, improvisational workshops, and the exploration of the creative process. This years collaborators include: Sidra Bell (Sidra Bell Dance NY), Shannon Gillen (VIM/VIGOR)  Ellia Mrak (Flying Low Technique), Troy Olgilvie (MIP Founding Collaborator), and MIP Concept & Artistic Director, Alexandra Wells.
MIP 2016 Auditions: February 20th, 2016.

MIP 2016 Dates:  June 27th – July 15th, 2016

Audition for Artichoke Dance

Artichoke Dance Company seeks dynamic dancers with strong partnering
abilities.We will be hiring one female and one male dancer for company and
understudy positions. Rehearsals begin immediately leading up to April
performances at Manhattan Movement and Arts Center. All positions are
paid. Send resume, photo and video link of dancing to
info@artichokedance.org. Minorities are encouraged to apply. Following
pre-screening, select applicants will be invited to audition. Auditions
are February 13, 11am-1pm or 1-3pm with callbacks at 3pm. Deadline to
submit application materials is February 11, 5pm.

Nikolais Tickets Discount

Kim Gibilisco was offered Nikolais Dance Theatre tickets at the Joyce for a special Nikolais/Louis Family Discount. For groups of 8+, the offer is 25% off the $60-$45 rate. This offer will be accepted for multiple nights as long as 8+ are in the group.

You will need to provide a credit card for the group reservation.

Kim expects that the show will sell out quickly in light of Murray’s passing.
