The Isadora Duncan Dance Foundation, which I founded in 1980, is continuing to operate and flourish even in these difficult times. The Isadora Duncan Foundation is pleased to offer apprenticeship openings and performance opportunities to gifted dancers.

“We are fully aware that young modern dancers are familiar with Isadora Duncan historically, yet many are less familiar with her actual technique and vocabulary upon which the dances are built.  For this reason, our auditions are designed in two parts.  Firstly, we select dancers with a passion and affinity for the style and spend some months training them in an apprenticeship capacity.  They often perform as guest dancers with the Company for some educational outreach programs.  Secondly, we select dancers into the Company in a junior membership capacity for further training and experience, leading to full Company membership.”

Auditions are by appointment only and can be scheduled by contacting Lori Belilove’s office at (212) 691-5040info@isadoraduncan.org In their audition process, they ask dancers to fill out an application expressing their interest in their Company. They also encourage dancers to take a class with the company to get a taste of the work and get to know them.

Isadora Duncan Dance Foundation is celebrating Isadora’s 138th Birthday in New York City on Saturday, May 2, 8:00 p.m. with a Company performance at our Chelsea studio.
